Police shoot Norman man

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) – Police in Norman say a man is hospitalized in critical condition after being shot by a police officer.

Police said in a news release that officers were called just after 11:30 a.m. Sunday to investigate a man causing a disturbance and that they arrived about 11:45 a.m. The release says that a minute or two later an officer reported shots had been fired.

The release says the man was shot several times and that no officers were injured.

The names of the man and the officer involved in the shooting were not immediately released.
