APACHE, Okla. (AP) – The National Weather Service says a tornado developed in eastern Oklahoma County and another was spotted earlier near Apache as strong thunderstorms moved from southwestern through central Oklahoma.
A tornado near Lake Arcadia northeast of Oklahoma City about 5 p.m. Sunday was reported by the weather service in Norman to be weak. There are no reports of injury or damage. A funnel cloud was also seen about 2 p.m. near Apache in southern Caddo County.
Weather service forecaster Daryl Williams says winds gusts of 50 to 60 miles per hour and nickel- to quarter-sized or larger hail were possible as the storms move across Oklahoma.
