Update: Missing Kay County Man Found Murdered; Suspect in Custody

KAY COUNTY, Oklahoma – The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) has arrested a man in connection with the murder of a missing Kay County man. On January 29th, the Kay County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance processing a crime scene on Tosque Drive in Tonkawa. Charles Star Warrior, 40, was missing from the residence and based on the scene it appeared a homicide had occurred.

On January 30th, a body was discovered in the Chikaskia River east of Tonkawa. The victim was identified as Warrior. Based on the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Dustin Lee Begshisown, 42.

Begshisown was arrested by the Wichita, Kansas Police Department at 4:45 a.m. this morning. He is facing a charge of Murder in the Second Degree. He is currently in custody in Wichita awaiting extradition to Oklahoma.

Assisting the OSBI with this investigation were the Kay County Sheriff’s Office, 8th District Task Force investigators and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death
