Ponca City Area Chamber of Commerce-Garrett Bowers

As the Ponca City Area Chamber of Commerce brings 2021 to a close, it is always important to reflect on the year’s highlights. Speaking on behalf of the Chamber, I have to say my experience as chairman and serving on the executive committee is one that I will always cherish.

The fabric which makes this organization so great is its people. We rely so heavily on the Chamber staff and the volunteer efforts of its Board members to make our events exciting and fruitful for membership engagement; and they delivered this year at each cornerstone event. In 2021, we were finally able to get back to a pace of normalcy and fun. Through the 12 short months of leading our Chamber, I was constantly reminded of what a special place Ponca City is and how the cohesive networking and cooperation of our City Departments, Main Street, Development Authority and Chamber of Commerce works together to not only deliver a net-positive business membership investment, but more importantly a wonderful community for our citizens to call home.

This year, the Chamber gave host to 44 new memberships as well as 25 ribbon cuttings. Our Party at the Palace Auction boasted banner numbers, and our board and committee meetings were always well attended, informative and engaging. This community is uniquely jam-packed with vibrant and eager citizens which made my leadership year fly by so quickly. I am so proud to call Ponca City our home. Next year, Wendy Stobbe, as your new chair will undoubtedly lead this organization to new heights and immeasurable standards that will surpass this year. It is my hope to offer her the same support and wisdom I have received from our past chairs to accomplish that task.

On behalf of the Chamber Board of Directors, the Chamber Exec team, and our wonderful Chamber staff, I want to say Happy Holidays to all Ponca City citizens, and a sincere thank you from Melissa, HB and I personally to all our Chamber members who have supported our efforts in 2021.
