Train Collides With FedEx Truck in Poteau

A 24-year-old Fed Ex driver was hurt and flown to a Tulsa hospital Wednesday after his truck was hit by a train in Poteau.

Poteau police said the accident happened after 2 p.m. as the Fed Ex truck was crossing train tracks on Bird Ave.

The driver has not been identified at this time. Police said driver has head and other injuries. He was flown to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

Police said “the crossing is marked by railroad cross bucks and a yield sign, but has no advanced warning systems,” such as lights or arms.
