Tonkawa Man in Critical Condition After Motorcycle Wreck in Kay County

A personal injury collision occurred at approximately 1:40 pm on Interstate 35 near the 232 mile marker west and north of Braman in Kay County on Friday December 3rd.

A 2002 Harley Davidson driven by Chris D. Ascue, age 67, of Tonkawa was southbound on an entrance ramp attempting to merge onto I-35 when the motorcycle departed the roadway to the right, overturned, struck the roadway, continued and struck a cone and a road sign coming to rest in the roadway.

Ascue was transported by EagleMed to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Ks. Admitted in critical condition, with head trunk internal and external injuries.

Troopers report the cause of the accident is under investigation.
