Tulsa council passes resolution on how to spend relief funds

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The Tulsa City Council has approved a resolution on plans for spending $50.6 million in American Rescue Plan funds. City spokesperson Carson Colvin says the resolution approved on Wednesday night does not allocate the money, which would come at an undetermined future meeting.

The proposal includes more than $9.1 million for the Tulsa Fire Department and $7.1 million for Tulsa police. It also includes funding for the Tulsa airport, Tulsa Health Department, homeless services, parks, and museums.

The council previously allocated $17.3 million for employee bonuses and stipends, a vaccine incentive program, and grants to nonprofit organizations.
