Ponca City Now - December 9, 2014 6:30 am

ADA (AP) — Oklahoma State University’s Center for Local Government Technology is planning a one-day workshop on winter maintenance snow and ice control.

The workshop is scheduled Tuesday at the Pontotoc County Agri-Plex in Ada. It will cover the full range of snow and ice removal and control, including program development, planning, pre-season activities, in-season operations, post-storm activities and post-season activities.

The workshop is designed to provide a sound understanding of the fundamentals of snow and ice removal and a better appreciation of what those in the winter maintenance network are expected to do during a winter weather event.

Plow operators and the operators of other equipment as well as road superintendents, supervisors, town managers, town clerks and local elected officials can all benefit from the training.
