Sandra Lea Moore
August 22, 1937 – November 14, 2021
Sandra “Sandy” Lea Wiggin Moore, left this world for her heavenly home on Saturday, November 14, 2021. At Sandy’s request, there will be no viewing. A Graveside Ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Longwood Cemetery, with Pastor Lynn Schuyler officiating.
Sandy was born on August 22,1937 in Crescent, OK to Charles and Myrtle Wiggin. She met the love of her life, Byron Moore, at an Easter pageant at the Holy City of the Wichitas in 1955, and they were married on April 21, 1956. She stayed at home during the first part of their marriage to begin and raise a family. While raising her family, she was very involved in PTA, and Girl Scouts. She also took an interest in painting and took lessons from Maxine Weaver. She exhibited her paintings at the Ponca City Art Center. Sandy and her family were long time members of Central Baptist Church where she was involved in teaching Sunday School, AWANAS, and other various roles. She loved the Lord and knew she was heaven bound. She was not only a mom, she was a mentor to anyone who asked. Her kindness and generosity was evident in everything she did no matter what it was. Anyone who knew Sandy could see her genuine interest in them and their problems. She had a listening ear and gentle guidance for them. She was always willing to lend a hand when it was needed.
In the later part of her life she became a Nana, which was one of her greatest joys. She got involved in their lives from every aspect whether it was attending school plays, grandparent’s day, swim meets or band competitions. She was a mom and nana to any one who needed her. Sandy collected depression glass, and in her later years began to quilt. She loved to pick out all the fabric to go in the quilt, but would rather have everyone else sew it for her. She loved to take vacations with her family to visit the Disney resorts and many of the National Parks. Christmas was her favorite season and she loved to put up her tree as soon as she could.
She is survived by her children Debra Conner and her husband, Bill, Diana Brewer and her husband Denny, Charles Moore and his wife, Pamela. Also surviving Sandy are her beloved grandchildren, Jordan Brewer, Jared Brewer, Tim Conner, Alec Moore, Jennae Brewer, Megan Conner, Brieana Moore, and Chase Moore. Sandy is preceded in death by her husband, Byron and grandson William Tyler Conner, as well as, her parents Myrtle and Charles R. Wiggin and sister, Beverly.
