On Thursday, Nov. 4, the Big Blue Wildcat Band traveled to Tahlequah to participate in the 2021 State Regional Marching Contest.

Other 6A bands from the Eastern part of Oklahoma participated, including Owasso, Bartlesville and Broken Arrow.

The Ponca City Big Blue Band had its best performance of the season and earned an “Excellent” rating.

The band parent organization “IMPA” supported the students by feeding them a wonderful breakfast to prepare them for the day’s competition and a lunch before the group headed home.

“I am very proud of the students. They had a great performance. I would like to thank the parent organization ‘IMPA’ as well for taking such good care of our students while away from home,” said band director Dineo Heilmann.
