Mustang High School Pulling All The Stops To Get Band To Competition

MUSTANG, Oklahoma – 

Mustang High School’s marching band is still exploring all options when it comes to who will take them to Indianapolis. It all began Tuesday when the bus company they planned to take said it was no longer possible.

“This is the pinnacle of our year building all the way up to the end and being able to perform on the national stage is a pretty incredible experience,” said Ryan Edgmon, Mustang’s High School Band Director.

The bus company said they could not drive these students to their competition because they did not have enough buses or drivers.

The company said late Tuesday night that they would work it out and make it happen, but the marching band is exploring all their options.

Mustang needs seven buses ready to take more than 300 students to Indianapolis to compete.

Since July, this marching band has been practicing for this competition.

Wednesday morning, the school plans to meet on creating backup plans.

On behalf of the Mustang High School Marching Band, MPS, and the entire Mustang community, we would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of support to help our Band compete in Indianapolis at the Bands of America Grand Nationals.

We are still working through logistics with transportation and exploring multiple options. We hope to have a plan finalized by early afternoon. We are instructing students to have their bags packed and ready to go, and at this moment we plan on sending our Mustang High School Band to Indianapolis to compete in Bands of America Grand Nationals and represent the community of Mustang as well as the state of Oklahoma.

Again, a huge thank you to everyone who has reached out offering support, sent thoughts/prayers, or shared our story. We are humbled and grateful.
