TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) – The Cherokee Nation is providing a $25,000 donation to the town of Warner to help a splash pad in a local park.

The splash pad will be located in Rogers Park and is expected to open next summer.

The pads are outdoor water play areas.

Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Bill John Baker said the pad will increase recreational opportunities and is expected to be popular among families with small children. Warner Mayor Jack Tatum said the pad is part of efforts to create a fun and safe place for children.
