Bartlesville Community Remembers Local Legend Mike Smith, Brother of Ree Drummond

Bartlesville community members are mourning the death of local legend Michael “Mikey” Smith, brother of Ree Drummond.

Bartlesville Ambulance Service Administrator Dan Dalton, a friend of Smith’s, announced the news on Saturday through Facebook.

Drummond frequently featured stories about Smith in her blog and included him in book signings and other events for her brand, The Pioneer Woman.

We are heartbroken over the loss of Michael. We would like to thank the community of Bartlesville for loving and supporting him his entire life. Memorial service details will be announced soon,” Drummond said in a statement.

Dalton said he learned of Smith’s death at Bartlesville Assisted Living when it was called into the ambulance service. A staff member made a point to let Dalton know what happened.
