GEARY, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says a man armed with a knife was fatally shot by a Geary police officer after lunging toward another officer. No names have been released.

The OSBI says the 46-year-old man was shot on Thursday by the officer on an Interstate 40 offramp, about 50 miles west of Oklahoma City. The OSBI says one Geary officer stopped to talk to the man after seeing him with a knife and two other Geary officers, one of whom was off-duty, also stopped. The OSBI says the man lunged at one officer when another attempted to use a stun gun. The man was then shot and died at the scene.
