Man Arrested After Allegedly Attempting to Set House on Fire with Flaming Bow and Arrow

The Tulsa Fire Department arrested a man on suspicion of arson Sunday at a home near Pine and North Lewis.

Firefighters found a bow and arrow in the backyard with a smoldering cloth on the tip. There was also a backpack sprayer with what smelled like gasoline inside.

The TFD investigator and Tulsa police located the suspect, Robert Wood, behind the house in a shed. Witnesses positively identified him as the suspect.

Wood was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County Jail.

He admitted to spraying the house with gasoline and using the arrow to ignite it.

“The suspect willfully, maliciously sprayed an ignitable liquid gasoline on and around a residential structure occupied by five individuals with the intent to burn the property,” TFD said in a Facebook post. “The suspect endanger the lives of five occupants when he attempted to burn the structure.”

Wood is facing a charge of fourth degree arson and endangering human life.
