‘This Is Unbelievable’: Community Mourns Loss Of Paramedic, Sister-In-Law Murdered In Dewey Co.

LEEDEY, Oklahoma –

Shockwaves continue to spread across western Oklahoma as two family members were found shot to death inside an ambulance barn in Dewey County.

Angel Boyd, 44, and her sister-in-law Stacy Boyd, 31, were found shot to death inside the Leedey Ambulance Barn Monday morning.

OSBI said Angel’s husband, Mitchell Boyd, found the two. He told investigators he and Angel were scheduled to have a talk with Stacy and her live-in boyfriend Tye Sechrist, 34, that morning, but no one showed up.

OSBI said Sechrist was arrested shortly after 7 a.m. at the home he shared with Stacy, after calling authorities to turn himself in.

Angel served as an EMT before becoming a paramedic at Roger Mills County EMS for several years. In February 2020, Angel began serving the community of Leedey where she lived as a paramedic.

“A car accident is something, but this is just unbelievable,” said Vickey Manning, an EMT and office manager at Roger Mills EMS in Cheyenne. “I think we are all a little numb. It’s been in cycles. The shock and just taking it all in.”

News of Angel and Stacey’s death spread quickly throughout the community.

“She always had a smile, always positive and loved everybody,” said Manning. “(She was) one of those that made you feel good when she was around you.”

Angel’s death has been felt as far away as Oklahoma City where she attended paramedic school at Oklahoma State University’s Oklahoma City campus.

Justin Hunter, the university’s paramedic program director, said Angel lived up to her name.

“She had this motherly instinct about her that she would influence over other students in the class, even over myself,” said Hunter. “You just knew that she cared and wanted to go a good job. “

As a community prepares to say goodbye, many will tell you there is now a void that will never be replaced.

“Remember her love, her love for people, her love for life,” said Manning. “She put everything into what she did. She truly portrayed that she cared and loved everybody.”

Tye Sechrist is behind bars in the Dewey County jail. His bond has been denied.

Funeral services for Angel and Stacy are scheduled for this weekend.
