Oklahoma prisons locked down after inmate attacks at 6 sites

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The head of Oklahoma’s prison system is ordering a statewide lockdown after several inmates were injured in what authorities say were gang-related attacks at six different prisons. Corrections Director Scott Crow ordered the lockdown on Friday afternoon and canceled all visitation.

Prison system spokesman Justin Wolf said he couldn’t release many details because the incidents were still under investigation. The agency said several inmates were injured seriously, but none of the injuries were life-threatening.

The attacks occurred at prisons in Hodgen, Atoka, Boley, Lexington, Hominy, and Holdenville.
