Winter weather advisory issued

TULSA, Okla. (AP) – Light freezing drizzle and rain along with sleet is falling in northeastern Oklahoma and northwestern Arkansas.

National Weather Service meteorologist Joe Sellers said the Monday morning precipitation was spotty with the heaviest amounts falling in northwest Arkansas, leading to some icy spots on bridges and overpasses. Sellers said the precipitation is expected to move out of the area by noon.

Several minor auto accidents were reported.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect in the area until 4 p.m. A winter weather advisory is also in effect until 6 p.m. for north-central Arkansas and freezing rain advisory was issued for northeast Arkansas until 6 p.m.

Daytime temperatures are expected to hover around freezing.
