Tulsa says network hack gained 27 Social Security numbers

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Tulsa’s chief information officer says a hack into the city’s computer system gained the Social Security numbers of 27 people. Michael Dellinger said on Tuesday that the information was included in online police reports filed by citizens between January 1st, 2015 through May 6th, 2021, and the city is trying to contact those people.

The city said in June that hackers got files that included information such as names, dates of birth, addresses, and driver’s license numbers, but not Social Security numbers. Dellinger said further analysis revealed Social Security numbers on some of the files.

Tulsa residents can go to the city’s website at www.cityoftulsa.org/cyber to learn if their information was accessed.
