STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — A former Stillwater Junior High School teacher, who was among those who helped organize the teacher walkout in 2018, has been sentenced to prison.

Twenty-eight-year-old Alberto Morejon was sentenced on Friday after pleading guilty to engaging in sexual communication with a minor by use of technology. He was sentenced to ten years in prison, with the first five years to be served in custody and the last five years to be served on probation.

Morejon’s attorney, Irven Box, says Morejon likely will serve less than three years in prison since the crime is not one that requires 85% of the sentence to be served.
