Mary Rosalee Bartlett
March 29, 1944 – July 4, 2021
Mary (Maryrose) Rosalee Bartlett (Lockhart, Reeves) gained her independence from this Earth for a much better home in Heaven on July 4th, 2021. She passed away under the wonderful care of the staff of St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma.
Mary was born March 29, 1944 to Frank and Bessie Lockhart in Bristow Oklahoma. She was the only daughter of 5 children. She grew up poor, but it made her strong. Being the only girl, it was more important to teach the boys so she never learned to drive, but that never stopped her.
She graduated from Quay High School in 1962. After graduation she got a job and moved to Stillwater, OK. where she met and married her first husband, Robert (Bobby) Reeves Sr. She moved to Pawnee, OK. and together they had 3 children and she worked helping with her husband’s carpentry business. In ‘78 she cared for him until his passing from cancer. She then remarried, but separated shortly after. Mary worked hard the rest of her life to care for her children and grandchildren on her own. Her children were her greatest achievement.
Mary cared for many in her life. She babysat for numerous friends and family. Her house was the place to be. Her children’s friends and cousins loved to gather and hang out at her house, it was home to many. Through the years she took in and cared for several nieces and nephews. She was known as MOM to so many besides just her biological children. After her children were grown, Mary could be found with her friends. If she was not home her children just needed to call Mary, Martha, or Cindy to find her.
One of her greatest loves and joys of her life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to entertain them, from grandma coffee in the morning to rides on her walker. She had something special with each and has left a mark on their lives forever. She will be greatly missed by them all.
Mary was a longtime member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Perry where she attended regularly until the pandemic.
Mary leaves behind two children: son, Johnny and wife, Shelli Reeves of Perry and daughter, Jessie and husband, Monte Frantz of Enid; Grandchildren, Robert III and Ceria Reeves, Amanda and Ryan Thomas of Independence, MO, Jarond Reeves of California, Thomas and Kate Collins, and Patty Reeves of Perry, Wesley and Lora Reeves of Oilton, OK, Odessa, Tori, and Raven Whitmire, Kyle Frantz and Stephanie Smith, Lance, Sarah, Gemma Frantz of Enid, OK., and Taylor and Jacob Frantz of Waukomis OK; and Great Grandchildren, Wyatt, Rhett, William, Jeffery, Patrick, Julian, Adrian, Preston, Jacqueline, Isaiah, Oaklyn, Zerinity, Shyler, Noble, Jon, Robin, Wesley Jr., Melissa, and Sara; her brothers, Billy Bob and wife, Valerie Lockhart of Burlington, KS, Allen and wife, Pam Lockhart of Pawnee, OK., Gail and wife, Dovie Lockhart of Sherman, TX.; and several nieces and nephews.
