The Ponca City High School Instrumental Music Department recently received a donation from Acoustic Freight Train Instrument Donation Inc. (AFT-ID).

Started by Danny DeVore and other members of the band Acoustic Freight Train, AFT-IFD is a 501© (3) non-profit organization who receives donated musical instruments from the public and awards them to underprivileged children and school districts.

The group’s mission is to “empower children through the power of music.” AFT-ID brought this empowerment to the Ponca City Instrumental Music program and donated a trombone, violin, electric jazz guitar and amplifier.

These instruments were donated by several individuals in the Tulsa area. Anyone who would like to donate an instrument to Acoustic Freight Train Instrument Donation Inc. can contact them at [email protected] or reach them at 918-998-4792. Locally, you can contact Mike Seals, who is a board member of the organization, at [email protected].

You can also contact Paula Cochran, PCPS Instrumental Music Coordinator, at [email protected].
