Marie Louise King
November 29, 1928 – May 15, 2021
Marie Louise King, 92, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord and her family on May 15, 2021. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, May 21, 2021, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tracey Ivy officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, Ponca City. Marie was born on Thanksgiving morning, November 29, 1928, in Ponca City, to Merton and Francis (Fowler) Thele. She grew up in Ponca City. While attending high school, she was employed at the S. H. Kress Co., working after school and Saturdays until she graduated from Ponca City High School in 1947 and was then promoted to full-time window trimmer which she enjoyed very much. Marie married her high school sweetheart, Frank King, on June 5, 1948 in Newkirk, OK and they made their home in Ponca City. They were married 54 years until his death in 2003.
Marie enjoyed all things family oriented. She loved to sew for her three daughters, crocheting, camping trips, and family get-togethers. She also enjoyed helping with high school reunions and keeping the 1947 class united with her quarterly newsletter. She was a member of the Albright United Methodist Church, helping in the nursery and kindergarten departments for over 30 years and in the kitchen in her younger days.
She is survived by two sons in law, Eddy Arnold and Joe Cartwright; three nephews, Dale Thele, Kent Thele, Brian Hardesty and his wife Donnette; four nieces, Diana Casady and her husband Mike, Janice Alexander and her husband Charles, Cheryl Munn and her husband Bob, and Jeannette Threadgill. Marie has several great and great-great nephews and nieces, numerous cousins, and countless friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, her sister Barbara Hardesty and brother Herman Thele, and her daughters, Linda Arnold, Kay Cartwright, and Shari King.
Pallbearers will be Joe Cartwright, Kent Thele, Brian Hardesty, Mike Duran, Michael Duran, and Zach Duran.
