Jennifer (Hall) Windom
September 8, 1957 ~ March 28, 2021 (age 63)
Jennifer Windom went to be with her loving family in Heaven on Sunday, March 28, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 63 years old.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 8, 1957 and was the youngest of 8 children. Even though she was the baby, she antagonized her elder siblings to show them who was the boss. She grew up in Chicago and moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma in 1969. She married John Windom on August 29, 1981 at Northeast Baptist Church in Ponca City. Their two oldest kids, Jessie and Laura, were born in Weatherford, and then the family moved back to Ponca City in 1987 to raise their 4 children, having added Sammie and Johnny.
Jennifer worked at Smith Tool as a CNC machinist for 26 years, following in her father’s footsteps who also worked there for 17 years. At Smith Tool, she made many friends who she stayed in contact with even after she left the company and after it closed down. While she was working full-time, she was also a full-time mother and soccer mom, attending her two oldest children’s games both in town and out of town and cheering them on. Even after leaving Smith Tool, she was too feisty to sit still and do nothing, so she returned to painting houses, businesses, and various other handiwork. She was known for her hard-working nature and occasionally, her stubbornness.
In her free time, she enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, and going to her grandchildren’s sporting events. She also had fun going out to casinos with her brothers and sisters, and especially with her older sister Debra, who was her partner-in-crime. Jennifer also played cards with her best friends that she’s known since high school. Jennifer also had a love for bowling and softball.
She was a loving daughter, mother, sibling, wife, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend and well-loved by everyone in her life. She was so headstrong that she was even taking phone calls to paint houses until her final days. Jennifer was a fighter and taught her children to never give up, just like her.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her father Louis Burley Hall, mother Melissa Jean Hall, brothers Louis Hall and Lloyd “Porky” Hall, and sisters Erma Jean Kaltenbach and Debra Carol Gonzales. She is survived by her 4 children: Jessica, Laura, Samantha, and Jonathan, along with her brother Michael Hall and sisters Peggy Scudieri and Karen Payne. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Kaydee, Laynie, Berlin, Kayson, Legion, Bennett, Chloy, and Penelope.
Her memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Grace Memorial Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be: Justin Weatherford, Brandon Corrington, Devin Renda, Mike Bowles, Bill Scudieri, and Bud Crawford. Memorial donations may be made to Autism Speaks (www.autismspeaks.org) to support autism research.
