Wreck injures Newkirk man

A Newkirk man was injured yesterday after another vehicle failed to obey a stop sign. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Mark Hoepfinger, 43 was transported to Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa in stable condition with head and internal trunk injuries.

The report said Hoepfinger hit John Lockwood, 36 of Tulsa. Lockwood was eastbound, turning north and failed to stop at the stop sign on SH-11 at US-77N one mile west of Kildare. Hoepfinger was southbound and hit the rear of Lockwood’s trailer.

The report said Lockwood wasn’t injured.
