Longtime Halloween tradition continues in Tonkawa

Halloween is just around the corner, and so is the Haunted Sale Barn in Tonkawa. The Haunted Sale Barn has been around for 15 years and is ready for another go around this year.

Margie Oxford, Haunted Sale Barn coordinator said the first night is only $5.

"It starts on Thursday, Oct. 23, and it goes from 8 to 10 and it’s our half price night for the younger kids who are scared too easy," Oxford said. "We call it half the scare for half the price."

Then the rest of the nights will cost $10. They will be open Oct. 24 and 25 from 8 to midnight, Oct. 29 and 30 from 8 to 10 p.m. and Oct. 31 and Nov.1 from 8 to midnight.

Oxford said the sale barn is just the location and doesn’t necessarily inspire the theme.

“Parts of it does, but not really because we have the clown room, doll room and zombie room and stuff," Oxford said. "It’s in the sale barn, but we don’t actually have the theme of it too much.”

The groups that help create the haunted barn will get a percentage of the admissions. This year the senior parents are doing the cemetery room, extended studies is doing the doll room and haunted forest and cross country is taking care of the hallway. Also, all the proceeds from the concessions benefits Relay for Life.

The Haunted Sale Barn is at the dead end of south 7th.
