Ponca City companies compete for grant
Ponca City Now - October 13, 2014 11:52 am
Four Ponca City companies are competing for a $5,000 grant. The grant is through Dream Big Oklahoma, which supports Oklahoma start-ups and small businesses. The four Ponca City businesses are Anderson and Company Salon and Spa, Dancing Bass Marketing and Microforms, Abbygardens FreeVeggies and Graf-X-Tina Creative Services.
Each company has its own dream that it would use the money for. Anderson and Company wants an innovative work area where it can mix color right in front of the client, teach customers how to do hair like a pro and teach makeup techniques. Dancing Bass wants to make aquaphonics technology affordable for families, so it can grow fresh food in a fish tank like system. Abbygardens FreeVeggies wants to grow more vegetables, and a rototiller to ease the work load so it can continue to provide for the handicapped in Ponca City. Graf-X-Tina wants to create a workspace for entrepreneurs, travelers and home based business people to collaborate.
The Ponca City contestants, along with contestants from Tonkawa, Enid and Cherokee are in the Cherokee Strip sub-group. You have until Friday to vote and can vote once a day. The winner from this group will continue on to the statewide competition for a chance to win more money.
