Oklahoma nears 4,000 deaths for COVID-19

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The number of deaths in Oklahoma due to the illness caused by the coronavirus is nearing 4,000.
The Oklahoma State Department of Health on Saturday reported 35 additional COVID-19 deaths for a total of 3,994 since the pandemic began. The department also reported 1,458 new virus cases for a total of 412,276.
Data from Johns Hopkins University shows a decline in the seven-day rolling averages of both new cases and deaths, from 2,603.57 new cases per day to 1,584.43 and from 40.57 daily deaths to 35.57.
The department’s weekly report shows 12,336 new cases for the period of February 5th through February 11th, a decline of 21.1% in new weekly cases.
