Newkirk teen suffers injury after turn over accident

A Newkirk teen wrecked on Highway 60, two miles east of Tonkawa early this morning. Jared Engelking, 18 is in stable condition with head and leg injuries. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Blackwell EMS transported him from the scene of the wreck to Blackwell Integers Hospital. From there he was flown to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

The report said Engelking was heading west when he departed the road from the left and struck a sign. Then he crossed over both lanes of traffic and went off the right side of the road. He continued to collide with a fence and rolled 1.25 times.
