NOC Stillwater Language Arts instructor Tammy Davis has been selected as the NOC Division Chair for Language Arts.

Davis earned her Bachelor’s Degree at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas and Master’s Degree at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.

Davis has taught at Northern Oklahoma College since 2003 when the NOC Gateway Program opened its doors.  She is a co-sponsor for President’s Leadership Council on the Stillwater campus. Prior to her employment with NOC, she taught at Pratt Community College in Pratt, Kansas for 11 years and through EDUKAN, an online Kansas consortium, for five years.

Davis is excited about her new role and her fellow instructors at NOC

“I am excited to continue working alongside fantastic instructors in the Language Arts Division,” Davis said.

“Tammy Davis has 15 years of experience at Northern so is well familiar with processes, but she has also demonstrated innovation in developing community partnerships and a strong commitment to student service at all levels in academic advising and instruction,” said Dr. Pam Stinson, Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Davis replaces Dr. Cathy Moore who retired from NOC in December.

Northern Oklahoma College, the state’s first public community college, is a multi-campus, land-grant institution that provides high quality, accessible, and affordable educational opportunities and services which create life-changing experiences and develop students as effective learners and leaders within their communities in a connected, ever changing world.

NOC, a public two-year community college, serves nearly 5,000 students on the home campus in Tonkawa, branch in Enid, NOC/OSU Gateway Program in Stillwater, online, and the University Center in Ponca City. Of these students about 60% receive financial aid and/or scholarships.  Over 80% of NOC students complete their degree with zero debt.

NOC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and offers associate degrees in three general areas: Arts, Science and Applied Science.  The associate degree fulfills lower-division course work which is applicable towards a bachelor’s degree.
