Curfew reprieve again extended for Oklahoma bars, restaurants

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — An Oklahoma judge has again extended a temporary restraining order that allows bars and restaurants across Oklahoma to stay open past an 11 p.m. curfew issued by Gov. Kevin Stitt in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Court records show that District Judge Susan Stallings extended the order on Friday while she considers issuing a ruling in the lawsuit by a group of bar owners who argue the governor doesn’t have legal authority to impose the curfew.

Attorneys for the governor say that state law gives Stitt discretion to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
