Gov. Stitt replaces his top attorney, a key staffer

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt is replacing a key member of his staff. The Republican Governor announced on Thursday that his top attorney, general counsel Mark Burget, is returning to the private sector. Stitt’s new general counsel is Jason Reese.

Reese is a former staffer at the Oklahoma House of Representatives and the state Republican Party. Reese has been a partner since 2014 at the Oklahoma City law firm Edinger, Leonard & Blakley, where he mostly represents employers.

The Governor has also confirmed the resignation on Thursday of Public Safety Secretary Chip Keating. He is the son of former Oklahoma Gov. Frank Keating.
