Seven School Districts open Board of Ed Filing Period

Candidates for the Board of Education in seven Kay County School Districts file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2020.

Cheryl Howard, Secretary of the Kay County Election Board, said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 9th.

The Board of Education positions at stake will be filled at the Annual School Election scheduled April 6, 2021. If three or more candidates file for one office a Primary School Election will be held on February 9, 2021.

Offices for which Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board Office include the following:

Blackwell School I-45 Office #1 5 year term

Kildare School C-50 Office #1 3 year term

Newkirk School I-125 Office #1 5 year term

Peckham School C-27 Office #2 3 year term

Pioneer Technology V-13 Zone #4 5 year term

Ponca City School I-71 Office #1 5 year term

Tonkawa School I-87 Office #1 5 year term
