OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The number of reported coronavirus cases in Oklahoma has surpassed 150,000 and the number of deaths now tops 1,500.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health on Saturday reported 150,205 total cases and 1,516 deaths since the pandemic began in March, increases of 2,847 cases and 23 additional deaths from Friday. The department reported 1,247 people hospitalized, down from a record 1,279 on Friday.

The true number of infections is also likely higher because many people haven’t been tested, and studies suggest people can be infected and spread the virus while not feeling sick.

The seven-day rolling average of daily new cases in Oklahoma has risen from 1,091 to 2,229.6.
