PCPD conducts safety checkpoint this weekend

The Ponca City Police Department are conducting a traffic safety checkpoint this weekend.

"You need to have insurance on your vehicle, verification of that insurance in the vehicle you are driving, be buckled up and have all your passengers buckled and obey all traffic laws," said Ponca City Police Patrol Captain, Earl Watkins.

This checkpoint is in conjunction with the national traffic campaign, Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, which runs Aug. 15 – Sept. 1. The crackdown targets drunk and drugged driver to remove them from the streets.
