The Northern Oklahoma College Madrigal Singers will be performing a short outdoor concert Sunday, Oct. 11 at 4 p.m. on the steps of the Crowder Science Building on the Tonkawa campus.

According to director Shannon Varner, The NOC Madrigals travel each year to The Kansas City Renaissance festival in Bonner Springs but due to restricted travel and the cancellation of the festival this year the singers decided to perform the outdoor concert at the Tonkawa campus.

The students will be dressed in Renaissance attire and will perform many pieces of the Renaissance time period.

The Madrigal Singers will be joined by “the Recorder Consort,” an associate group of the Ponca City Federated Music Club.

Varner asked the audience please bring a chair and to social distance.

The audience will be able to sit in the area south of the student union and around the gazebo area. The circle drive will be closed to avoid having cars drive through the performance.

In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the Kinzer Performing Arts Center.
