Oklahoma reports 613 more cases of COVID-19, no new deaths

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma reported 613 new cases of the coronavirus on Monday and no new deaths, officials said.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported that the total so far of confirmed cases is at 64,220. The department said there have been 853 deaths in the state reported so far due to COVID-19, the illness caused by the virus.

The department said that as of Monday there were 9,953 active cases and 53,414 people have recovered.

Kay County is reporting 365 confirmed cases, resulting in 12 deaths.

Osage County is reporting 704 confirmed cases, also with 12 deaths.

There have been a total of 853 deaths in the State attributed to the virus.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and a cough that clear up in two to three weeks. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, and death. The vast majority of people recover.
