Superintendent Arrott Issues Quarantine Update

Ponca City Public Schools Superintendent Shelley Arrott has issued her weekend COVID-19 update.

This update covers the period from 8-31 through 9-4.

During that period, she is reporting that 2 positive cases were identified on the 31st of August at Lincoln Elementary School, with the total number of students and staff affected at 44, resulting in the quarantine of 2 classrooms of students.

Superintendent Arrott is also reporting 1 positive case, on the 1st of September at Roosevelt Elementary School, with 19 close contacts, resulting in the quarantine of 1 full classroom with the total number of affected at 20.

Also on the 1st of September, Po-Hi had one positive case of the virus with 44 close contacts resulting in the quarantine of a total of 45 students and staff.

On the 2nd of September, 2 close contacts were identified of positive cases, resulting in 2 quarantines.

On the 3rd of September, it was determined that, at multiple sites, there were 9 close contacts of positive cases, and that resulted in 9 quarantines.

On the 4th of September, 4 more close contacts were identified at Po-Hi, resulting in their quarantine.

Totals for the week are:

4 positive cases

120 close contacts

124 total quarantined.
