Dogs take a dip in Ponca City pool

Ponca City Now - August 6, 2014 8:07 am

Let that tongue hang out no more, our four legged friends are getting to take a dip in the Ambucs pool. Terri Sherbon with Ponca City parks and recreation said allowing dogs to swim is becoming a tradition in town.

“We do this after we shut the pool down and we’ve turned all the chemicals off, so it’s nothing but water," Sherbon said. "Then once the dog swim is over with that’s when we go in and drain the swimming pool.”

All dogs with current shots and tags are welcome and it’s not just fun for the dogs either, Sherbon said.

"It’s a lot of fun just to go down there and watch all these dogs swim and have a good time running around the deck," Sherbon said.

Sherbon even said some owners like to get in the pool with their dogs. The pool will be open to dogs Monday from 5:30 to 7 p.m and is $5 per dog.
