Mona Lee Woodrome

January 26, 1943 ~ August 29, 2020 (age 77)

Mona Woodrome, 77, beloved Mother, grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place on August 29, 2020, peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She entered this world on January 26, 1943, in Duncan, Oklahoma, born to Clem Ray and Grace Lee Crenshaw Varvil.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September4, 2020 in Grace Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jack Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery of Ponca City, OK. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 3, 2020, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Grace Memorial Chapel. Casketbearers will be Chris Chamberlain, Brandon Owings, Michael Bennett, Tim Woodrome, Dalton Woodrome, Dylan Woodrome and Garrett Williams. Honorary Casketbearers will be Tony Bennett, Travis Potter and Dakotah Woodrome.

She was an only child and lived in the country by her grandpa, he would take her to church and fishing on Sundays until they moved to town. Mona attended Empire elementary, Central Junior high and Duncan High School where she graduated. She worked at the Good Luck Café when she was 16 and as she got older, she worked for Rock Tavern. She enjoyed going over to her Aunt Lenny’s house and play with Ron Howard in the weeping willow tree (Ron’s grandparents lived across the bridge from her aunt’s house. She also would go to her friends Rosa Lee’s house and play cards and watch Wrestling, which she loved. Mona also enjoyed going to her aunt Heddie’s house playing dominoes. She met the love of her life Chris Woodrome in Duncan, OK, and they were married February 7, 1966, in Wichita Falls, Texas, and they made their home in Ponca City, OK. Mona worked at several café’s through the years, A & W Root Beer, Cobb’s Café, Dixie Dog Drive In and Jeans Lasso. Everyone loved her pies she baked. Mona loved to go camping and fishing with family. She also enjoyed cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner for her family, crocheting, embroidery work. She loved Harley Choppers and would tell everyone how she would like to be on the back of that one Mona was also a Big Elvis Fan, and she would attend an impersonator show anytime she had the opportunity to attend. Mona cherished the time she could spend with her family making memories.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children; Rick Nalley of Stillwater, OK, Kelley Nalley and wife Stacy of Ponca City, Carol Owings and Tommy Woodrome and wife Becky all of Ponca City and Ruby Bennett and husband Tony of Marland, OK, also surviving are her grandchildren; Christopher Chamberlain, Kimberly Woodrome, Kiesha Owings and partner Mario, Brandon Owings, Michelle Williams and partner John Sanders, Jessica Potter and husband Travis, Michael Bennett and wife Christina, Tim Woodrome and wife Beth, Dalton Woodrome, Savannah Klinger and husband Lane, Amanda Lickliter, Kiesha Lickliter and Kelly Lickliter Jr. and numerous great grandchildren.

Mona was preceded in death by her parents, husband Chris.
