August 26, 2020

Dear Wildcat Families,

Thank you for your patience during the first days of the 2020-2021 School Year. With students returning to the classroom for the first time since the beginning of the global pandemic, we changed ALL procedures and protocols to guide us in our number one priority, which is to protect the health and safety of our students.

To accomplish this goal, we know it will take a team effort between parents, students, staff members, and the community. This effort begins with everyone following the safety protocols we have established to limit the spread of COVID-19. We appreciate your dedication to this cause so we may keep our students who have chosen the traditional learning option in school. You will find all of the PCPS Return to Learn Plans and Protocols on the homepage of our website at www.pcps.us.

Additionally, we have updated our website with the latest COVID-19 updates. The link to these updates is on the main page of our website and is titled Latest COVID-19 Updates & Return to Learn Information Pages. https://www.pcps.us/cms/one.aspx?portalid=32320943&pageid=32406858

Included on this page, you will find various resources including information about contact tracing, prevention strategies, FAQs, and many other valuable resources.

Sharing appropriate information about COVID cases is another way to help protect one another. If you have a positive case in your household or have been in close contact with a positive case, please contact a medical professional and contact your child’s principal. The principal will immediately call a district contact tracer and you will receive a call quickly.

You can count on us to keep you informed about cases in our school as well. While we must protect the privacy of the people involved, we will communicate transparently with you so you can be well-informed of our current data. To better serve you, we have posted a PCPS Contact Tracing Totals Chart, which you can find on the Latest COVID-19 Updates page: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16p81OZg363Bg-bC4oh-eCBDIqvQEXil9W8AAEJmo7KI/edit#gid=0

This chart will include real-time, accurate and current information about COVID-19 cases impacting PCPS.
We are grateful for the opportunity to serve you and your family. Thank you for entrusting your children to the caring, dedicated, exceptional staff of PCPS. We will continue to communicate with you regularly so you may be kept informed with all things pertaining to the Wildcats of PCPS. Without doubt, we will get through this school year together and we will be stronger and better than ever.

Sincerely,

Shelley Arrott
