Barbara Lou (Raper) Kennedy

August 12, 1933 ~ August 8, 2020 (age 86)

Barbara Kennedy, long time resident of Ponca City, passed away suddenly Saturday, August 8, 2020, at the Ponca City Hospital. Barbara was born on August 12, 1933 in Ponca City to Earl and Thelma Raper.

Barbara grew up and attended Ponca City schools. Barbara married the love of her life Marion Kennedy in Ponca City on June 11, 1955 where they made their home. She had two daughters; Paula and Pauline. Barbara worked as a nursing assistant for a few years at the Ponca City hospital before moving to Kansas City, Kansas where they lived for a number of years before moving back to Ponca City where she lived until she passed.

Barbara loved family and she loved doing for her family. Barbara loved listening to country music, watching OU football games, traveling when she was able to, eating out, and watching TV.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Marion Kennedy, parents, Earl and Thelma Raper, daughter, Paula Peterson, and two brothers, Lloyd and Charles Raper.

She is survived by her daughter, Pauline Kennedy of the home, granddaughter, Kenda Harris, and grandsons, David and Noah Harris.

A Graveside service will be held in honor of Barbara at 2pm on Friday, August 14, 2020 at the Riverview Cemetery, Tonkawa.
