PONCA CITY, OK  —  Central Fare, a community workforce retention and attraction project was launched in June by the Ponca City Development Authority (PCDA) in response to COVID-19 physical distancing measures.  PCDA received notice today that a submitted Placemaking Grant has been approved for $5000.00; $4,500 from the National Association of Realtors (NAR) for the gathering area project and $500 from North Central Board of Realtors (NCBOR) to assist with completion of Central Fare.

With this additional grant, PCDA will be able to add more shade areas, visual interest and greenery to this ADA accessible outdoor food court and seating area, located directly west of City Central at 400 E. Central Ave in downtown Ponca City.  City Central is a newly renovated office building, home to several meeting spaces, The Link co-working space, The Summit Conference Center and leasable commercial offices.

PCDA would like to thank all the support given to this project. “Without the support of local businesses and organizations like NAR and NCBOR, these types of projects would never be able to happen in smaller communities such as Ponca City,” stated Lori Henderson, CFO for PCDA.  “PCDA Board of Trustees have led the charge to develop these types of workforce retention projects which have only been accelerated by COVID-19. Special thanks to the 2020 North Central Board of Realtors members which include Mary Beth Moore, Annette Newcomb, Christy Thompson, Russ Didlake, Robin Smith, Michele Evans, Regina Jones-Vidricksen and Donna Reid ”
