A Memorial Day Tribute

May 26, 1975 – May 24, 2020

For over 45 years, Resthaven-Sunset Memorial Parks has hosted a Memorial Day Ceremony honoring and celebrating Veterans. Every year on Memorial Day weekend, over 1600 small flags, and over 400 large flags are set throughout Resthaven-Sunset Memorial Parks. This annual placement of flags takes a community of volunteers of all ages to achieve. Unfortunately, like most things in our lives, our annual ceremony has been affected by the Covid-19 Pandemic. It is our civic duty to protect our volunteers, our patrons, our most vulnerable community members, and especially our living veterans. In 2020, we honor those veterans who gave all with this – A Memorial Day Tribute. Though it represents only a small portion of the last 45 years, this collage aims to capture the past, present, and future spirit of our community, the Resthaven-Sunset Memorial Day Ceremony, and most of all, to honor our Veterans.
