Miss NOCs to Reign Another Year

The Miss America Competition has been canceled for 2020 due to Covid-19 allowing current Miss NOC’s Carli Pendleton and Emily Hall to serve another year as the  current Miss NOC’s.

Pendleton, a Tonkawa native will be a sophomore at NOC Tonkawa while Hall, an Enid native, will be a sophomore at NOC Enid.

Hall was named Miss NOC Enid and Pendleton Miss NOC Tonkawa at the Miss NOC Scholarship Competition held Oct. 29, 2019.

Pendleton and Hall were set to attend the Miss Oklahoma Competition in July but that pageant was canceled due to the cancellation of Miss America.

Seven current or former NOC students were vying to be named Miss Oklahoma.   In addition to Hall and Pendleton, current NOC student Chandler Brown is Miss Ponca City with former Miss NOC’s Telara Day (Miss Muskogee), Alexis Large (Miss Redbud), Karli Lovelace (Miss Elk City), and Lexi Neahring (Miss Brookside) also in the program.

NOC, a public two-year community college, serves 4,200 students on the home campus in Tonkawa, branch in Enid, NOC/OSU Gateway Program in Stillwater, online, and the University Center in Ponca City.

In 2019, NOC celebrated the 20-year anniversary of the Enid campus and a 15-year partnership with OSU for the Gateway Program.

NOC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and offers associate degrees in three general areas: Arts, Science and Applied Science.  The associate degree fulfills lower-division course work which is applicable towards a bachelor’s degree.
