March 17, 1944 ~ May 15, 2020 (age 76)
Carol Pemberton joined her father, mother and brother in heaven on May 15, 2020.
Carol was born on March 17,1944 to James Hersel Pemberton and Alice Lucille (Armstrong) Pemberton at the Ponca City Hospital. When she was four years old the family moved to a farm in Thompson, MO. There she attended Goodwater School, when she was nine the family moved back to Ponca City she then attended Garfield Elementary School and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1962. After graduation Carol along with her brothers worked in the family radio shop, after a short time she was given the job of fixing supper for the family after a day’s work. In May 1974 she enlisted into the Army Reserves where she proudly served her country until April 1988. She was stationed in San Jose, CA, there she attended school for Medical Assistants. After returning to Oklahoma she attended the school of Radiological Technology and graduated as number one in her class. She worked as an X-ray Technician in Coffeyville, KS and Jane Phillips Hospital in Bartlesville, OK where she retired. After retirement she moved back to Ponca City with the loves of her life Miss Kitty and Bud, her fur babies. She always looked forward to family gatherings as she loved her family. She had a passion for the art of quilting. Her quilts are all hand quilted, she was very particular of the work she did and was proud of each one. Before her eyesight got bad she also loved wood crafts and painting. She gave most of her quilts and wood crafts to family and friends.
She is survived by one brother Wayne Pemberton and wife Carla of Ponca City, sister in law Lanita Pemberton of Bartlesville, OK, nieces: Brenda Matlock and husband Mike of Bartlesville, OK, Lanette Allendorf and husband John of Winston-Salem, NC, Jana Pemberton of Dodge City, KS, Mitzi Pemberton and husband Eric Edwards of Ponca City, Brenda Osborn-Alien and husband Todd of Stillwater, Ok. Nephews: Jim Pemberton and wife Glenda of Maryville, TN, Tony Pemberton of Las Vegas, NV, several great nieces, nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and one brother Troy Pemberton.
The family would like to thank Via Christi Assisted Living and Nursing Care for the kindness, compassionate and loving care they gave Carol, Thank you to the nurses and all staff as they went above and beyond their duties. Thank You to North Central Hospice of Ponca City for your care, concerns and compassion not only for Carol but for the family as a whole. Thank you to Grace Memorial Chapel for your kind and compassionated service.
