January 5, 1960 – May 12, 2020

Bobby Doyle Hunt, age 60, Ponca City resident passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Please note the ceremony and visitation will be limited to 50 people or less in compliance with the restrictions in place within the State of Oklahoma. To accommodate those unable to attend, the ceremony will be broadcast live. Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00PM on Thursday, May 14, and from 8:00AM-8:00PM on Friday, May 15 with the family present to greet friends from 6-7pm on Friday. A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, May 16, 2020 with Don Fuchs officiating. Following the ceremony, Bobby will be laid to rest at Odd Fellows Cemetery so he can continue to keep watch on the refinery. Casketbearers include Dennis Robertson, Greg Durham, Pat Gladd, Dennis Wedd, Tracy Bruffett, Ken Gentry, Lowery Blackburn and Freddie Miller. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Bobby was born on January 5, 1960 in Knox City, Texas to Lloyd and Ruby (Cook) Hunt. He was raised in Rule, Texas, graduating from high school at the top of this class. Following high school, Bobby attended Texas State Technical Institute where he earned his degree in Electronic Technology. Upon graduation he was hired by DuPont. At the early age of 20 he began his career in the petroleum industry working with the seismography crews of West Texas. He was transferred in 1986 to the Ponca City Conoco refinery. Bobby was a hard worker and has remained loyal to Conoco-Phillips for 40+ years. His passion for instrumentation was his driving force for leading others and teaching the trade. He devoted many years to implementing processes and protocols for future instrument technicians. He built many life long friendships with coworkers and their families, which he cherished.

Bobby was a simple and humble man who always placed others needs above his own. When he wasn’t working, Bobby enjoyed keeping his mind sharp with crossword puzzles and challenging sudoku. His weekly social events included shooting games of pool with close friends. He enjoyed bowling with the Metro Classic League, on the Garcia Lawn Care Team. He shared his time annually volunteering as a member of the Houston based BBQ Cook-off team Holy Cow Cookers. Bobby adored his family and endeavored in all things to care thoughtfully for his beloved daughters, their mother, and his grandchildren.

Survivors include his mother Ruby Anderson of Haskell, TX; daughters: Chadisty Pauly and husband Randy of Houston, TX, Bilbry Black and Josh Fuchs of Cushing, OK, Colby Hunt of Ponca City; sister: Amanda Anderson and husband Alan of Rule, TX; grandchildren: Tayler , JJ and Mackenzie Black, Finley and Cooper Pauly.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Hunt, step father Danny Anderson and the woman to whom he gave his heart Roxie Hunt as well as numerous beloved aunts and uncles.
