A new Oklahoma law that became effective Nov. 1 changes early voting dates and times

In-person early voting is now the Thursday, Friday and Saturday before the election day. So, early voting for the June 24 primary election starts today, continues tomorrow and finishes up Saturday. The polls are open today and tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cheryl Howard, Kay County Election Board Secretary said early voting was previously the Friday, Saturday and Monday before. Monday voting is discontinued entirely.

These changes have occurred because SB 869 was approved, which was signed into law in May 2013. This law pertains to state and federal elections.
