Voting rules for the physically incapacitated

Ponca City Now - June 16, 2014 4:31 pm

Registered voters in Kay County who become physically incapacitated after 5 p.m. on June 17 won’t have to miss the June 24 primary election. County Election Board Secretary, Cheryl Howard said the state law permits registered voters who become unable to go to the polls to vote on an emergency basis. Physical incapacitation includes, injury, illness and childbirth, or any thing that prevents a person from voting in person that day.

If you think that your or someone fits into this category, contact the County Election Board office at 580-362-2130 as soon as possible for more information.
