Whitney Dye chosen as Wildcat of the Week

Ponca City Now - March 11, 2020 1:43 pm

Po-Hi Principal Thad Dilbeck, Whitney Dye, and Superintendent Shelley Arrott.

The Heather Cannon Wildcat of the Week is Po-Hi Senior Whitney Dye.

Superintendent Shelley Arrott said, “I have known Whitney since she was in prekindergarten, and it is not one bit surprising that she was selected as the Wildcat of the Week. She has been demonstrating the characteristics of the Wildcat Way before she even knew about the Wildcat Way. Whitney is a perfect nominee for this award.

“She maintains a 4.0+ GPA while juggling several AP classes and concurrent enrollment. With this heavy academic load, Whitney has not even missed a full day of school this year. Not only is she dedicated to her studies, but she is a 4th year Po-Hi Stepper and serves as a lieutenant for the team,” Arrott said. “Even though she is a very quiet person, one will never see her without a smile on her face. She quietly takes on any challenge with a positive attitude! Whitney plans to attend Oklahoma State University after graduation and wants to become a dentist.

“Whitney, thank you for your commitment to your education as it will serve you well in the future. You will be a great dentist who will instantly ease the fears of your patients with your pleasant demeanor. You carry yourself with dignity and grace, and your entire PCPS family appreciates you serving as a wonderful role model to others. Great things are in your future, Whitney!”

The Wildcat of the Week receives a Wildcat of the Week T-shirt, a Wildcat window sticker, and a coupon for a delicious burger basket from Ground Round. The award is sponsored by TEAM Radio, Heather Cannon Honda, Tyndall Family Dentistry, Ground Round, and Legacy Signs. The award is open to ANY Ponca City High School student. TEAM Radio makes the final selections and coordinates with school officials for presentations. Please use this link to nominate a high school student for Wildcat of the Week: https://www.poncacitynow.com//32875-2/
